CHICAGO (March 16, 2022) - Campus Ink has officially opened the first Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) popup store of its kind in the country, featuring 12 of its signed athletes from the University of Illinois men’s basketball team.

The news comes on the heels of Campus Ink’s recent announcement of the completion of an investment from Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban.

“We are proud to be visionaries in imagining the endless possibilities for supporting our student-athletes in the rapidly evolving space of Name, Image and Likeness,” said Steven Farag, Co-Owner of Campus Ink. “The Illini NIL Store is a prime example of our commitment to maximizing the profitability and brand of our student-athletes by bringing them directly to their fans.”

Located in downtown Chicago (2040 N. Halstead), The Illini NIL Store features University of Illinois licensed jerseys for nearly the entire Fighting Illini men’s basketball team, including First Team All-American Kofi Cockburn, All-Big Ten honoree Alphonso Plummer and standout guard Andre Curbelo.

In addition to featuring a clothing rack for all 12 individuals, a QR code is provided above each rack that sends fans directly to a specific players’ locker room for access to additional merchandise.

The store, which also houses Illini sweatshirts, t-shirts and other apparel, will remain open for the entirety of the NCAA Tournament.

Tuesday evening (March 15), The Illini NIL Store hosted all-time Illini great Dee Brown for an autograph session. Campus Ink has signed former athletes Brown and Georgi Bezhanisvili to its roster, and is currently in the process of signing more.
